Camacho Booms 3 out of the Park
Tuesday, August 23rd , 2050
Philadelphia Avalanche third baseman Jose Camacho sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Phoenix Falcons, Camacho told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Camacho pushed the Avalanche past the Falcons, 12-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Camacho told reporters after the game.
Jose Camacho hit a three-run home run off Jorge de la Torre in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Brian in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Bobby Brian in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th.
This year, Camacho is batting .290 with 106 hits and 17 home runs. He has scored 45 times and has batted in 66 runs.
