Porter Belts 3 HRs Sunday, July 16th , 2051 It was a good day for the Kinsale Fisherman and an exceptional one for Phil Porter. The 27-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Fisherman beat the Phoenix Palisades, 11-10, at Blue Raiders Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Porter said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 3 runs and smacked 5 hits in 7 at-bats. Phil Porter grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Corey Coady in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Rex Beers in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Walker in the 13th. Porter is currently batting .207 with 5 home runs and 12 RBIs. |
