Philadelphia Blanks Estes Park Behind Coville
Thursday, June 29th , 2051
In a seemingly effortless performance, Bill Coville of the Philadelphia Avalanche shot down the Estes Park Elderhorns, 4-0, on 4 hits.
"Bill was just locating so well and using his pitches," Philadelphia manager Esteve Varanda said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Coville recorded 7 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Estes Park manager Art Gabbert said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, Coville has gone 7-6 with an ERA of 3.48 and has 64 strikeouts in 101 innings.
