Phoenix Befuddled by Mayers in 1-0 Loss Thursday, June 29th , 2051 Joe Mayers had an impressive outing at Ballpark of Rochester, hurling the Rochester River Sharks to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Phoenix Falcons. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Phoenix skipper Bobby Espinosa said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Mayers yielded 4 hits and tallied 6 strikeouts with 1 walk.
