Girling Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Tuesday, May 17th , 2050 Mike Girling ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Ballpark of Flint, when he collected 1 hit in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Flint Coney Dogs dropped the game, 7-3, to the Reno Copper Kings. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Girling said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Mike Girling grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. At present, Girling is batting .341 and has collected no home runs, 5 RBIs, .396 OBP and scored 9 runs. |
