Injury Sidelines Dave Nevarez For Year
Saturday, August 10th , 2047
Rochester starting pitcher Dave Nevarez could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Detroit game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Nevarez would be out 11-12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
So far this season, Nevarez has logged a 10-6 record with a 2.53 ERA. He has started 24 games, hurled 135 innings and registered 96 strikeouts and 51 walks.
