River Sharks-Coney Dogs Fight Nets 4-Game Suspensions
Saturday, June 29th , 2047
David Volk of the Rochester River Sharks was not happy with Mike Pentland, and his frustration showed when he went after the Flint player during yesterday's game at Ballpark of Flint. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Volk and Pentland were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game.
Both players were suspended 4 games by the league office as a result of their tussle.
"It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Volk commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings."
Currently Volk is batting .355 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
On the season, Pentland has delivered 1 saves in 28 relief appearances. He has 27 strikeouts in 38 innings with a 3.55 ERA and a 4-4 mark.
