Horton Blasts 3 into Bleachers Wednesday, August 14th , 2041 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Threshers Ballpark were taking cover all day long as Nate Horton zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Nephi right fielder helped the Threshers take the victory, 12-6, over the Detroit Tigers. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 4 runs. Nate Horton walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Manny Baez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Manny Baez in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Francisco Lopez in the 7th. So far this year Horton is batting .337 with 13 home runs, 55 RBIs and 41 runs scored. |
