River Sharks SS Giesteira Suspended 3 Games Friday, May 31st , 2047 The agitation was hot and heavy at Ballpark of Rochester yesterday. After a called third strike River Sharks shortstop Rodrige Giesteira protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Giesteira was ejected from the game. "It was verbal, nothing more," according to Giesteira. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 3 games. "The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification. On the year, Giesteira has hit .207 with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 12 runs. |
