Tarp Torches Kings for 5 Hits
Tuesday, May 28th , 2047
The Portland Pickles stopped the Kansas City Kings by a score of 5-3 at Walker Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Jonathan Tarp. The 26-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Tarp said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Tarp did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Kings.
"Not much that I can say," offered Kansas City manager Shigeru Hayashi. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Jonathan Tarp singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Tarp is currently hitting at a .281 pace with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and has scored 7 times.
