Valerio Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, May 12th , 2050 Juan Valerio continued his streak at Whales Field, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Thousand Oaks third baseman was 3-for-3 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Rabbits were not as fortunate, losing, 5-4, to the Eugene Exploding Whales. "Valerio was hitting everything we threw at him," said Eugene manager Shigeru Hayashi. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Juan Valerio singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and doubled in the 8th. This year, Valerio is hitting .416 with 4 home runs and 16 RBIs in 26 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .478 with 8 walks and 11 runs scored. |
