Neff Strokes 5 Hits Wednesday, September 4th , 2052 A jubilant Jerry Neff joined the postgame press conference at Falcons Ballpark to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Phoenix Falcons pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Rochester River Sharks left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 7-5 River Sharks win. "He made it look easy," said Elijah Paysinger, manager of the Falcons. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Jerry Neff singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 10th.
