Chavez Sizzles, Nephi Fizzles Wednesday, August 14th , 2052 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Nephi Threshers as starter Brian Chavez shut them out, 4-0, at Threshers Ballpark. The Portland pitcher struck out 1 and walked 1 while allowing 3 hits. "Chavez was good but he wasn't flawless," Nephi manager Pedro Martinez said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Portland, but this is on us."
