5-for-8 Day for Tamez Sunday, August 11th , 2052 The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Juan Tamez. The third baseman for the Memphis BBQ hit the milestone against the Flint Coney Dogs, helping his club to a narrow 11-10 victory. Tamez finished with a 5-for-8 line at the plate. "Tamez was a tough out," Flint manager Ayres Canavezes told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one." Juan Tamez grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Dan O'Meara in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, walked in the 12th, grounded out in the 14th and hit an RBI double in the 16th.
