Caravaggio Slams 3 Homers for Pizzas Friday, July 12th , 2052 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Brooklyn Knights. Detroit second baseman Jose Caravaggio tripled up on the home runs to propel the Pizzas to a win, 13-0, at Brooklyn Coliseum. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang said. "Caravaggio hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Caravaggio collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Jose Caravaggio walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Luis Lezama in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Brian Hendricks in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Brian Hendricks in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In this current campaign Caravaggio is hitting at a .330 clip with 22 home runs and 55 RBIs. |
