Brooklyn Defeats St. Louis Sunday, October 30th , 2050 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2050, as the Brooklyn Knights topped the St. Louis Archies 3-1 tonight at Team2 Ballpark to win the World Series. It was the 9th title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Brooklyn right fielder Esteban Gonzalez, who was named series MVP. The Knights took the series 4-2. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the Alliance League Boneheads Division and a 90-72 record. Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Gonzalez's words. "Esteban said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
