Thomas Headed for Retirement Saturday, October 16th , 2049 Flanked by his two young children, Steve Thomas said his reason for retirement is simple. "I want to spend more time being a father now," the Portland Beavers reliever said in announcing that this season would be his last in pro baseball. "I'm 41 years old now, I think it's a good time to go." In his career, Thomas has registered 210 wins and 244 losses with no saves.
