Star of the Week Awarded in FL Monday, September 25th , 2051 Kyiv fans have something to crow about today as Kyiv first baseman Chris Nicotra nabbed the Federation League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Nicotra. He posted a .550 average (11-for-20) this past week with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. This season, Nicotra has posted a batting average of .262 with 145 hits in 553 at-bats, 39 home runs and 113 RBIs. He has also scored 86 runs, walked 46 times and compiled a .329 OBP. |
