Detroit Stops Martinez Hit Streak Friday, September 15th , 2051 Los Angeles defeated Detroit, 3-1, at Sportsman's Park, but saw the 21-game hitting streak of Kings first baseman Dave Martinez snapped -- the Pizzas held Martinez hitless in 4 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." This season, Martinez has hit at a .299 clip with 70 RBIs, 15 home runs and 55 runs scored. |
