Nicotra Has 25-Game Hitting Streak Monday, September 6th , 2049 The number just keeps getting higher. Arizona first baseman Chris Nicotra has now extended his hitting string to 25 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 5 at-bats as the Arizona won the game, 5-2, over the Memphis Chicks at Russwood Park. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Memphis manager GM KDR said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Chris Nicotra flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. For the season, Nicotra has produced 166 hits in 533 at-bats for a .311 average with 56 home runs and gotten on base at a .380 clip. |
