August's Best AL Hurler is Hoover Wednesday, September 1st , 2049 As John Hoover hoisted up the Alliance League Pitcher of the Month trophy for August, rumors have already begun to swirl about whether he will leave Havana once his contract is up at the end of the season. Hoover put pressure on the Sugar Kings to keep him around by posting a 4-2 record and an ERA of 2.36 over 42 innings last month. He also rolled up 36 strikeouts, increasing his value both to Havana and to every other team in the league. Hoover has made 27 starts so far this year and put up a 13-7 won-lost record with a 3.35 ERA. In 188 innings he has allowed 200 hits, walked 45 and struck out 158. |
