3-HR Dream Game for Amburtsev Tuesday, June 11th , 2052 Fans are still buzzing after Buffalo whipped the Havana Sugar Kings by the score of 9-3 at Sugardome II. Ivan Amburtsev smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Amburtsev said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Amburtsev said. "Three is just... wow." Ivan Amburtsev hit a solo-shot off Zack Alvarez in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Zack Alvarez in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Bill Mitchell in the 9th. Thus far this year, Amburtsev is batting .264 with 9 home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
