Martinez Wins Best Bat Trophy in August Thursday, September 1st , 2050 Dave Martinez, the Los Angeles first baseman, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .478 batting average with 44 hits, 2 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 14 times. That kind of hitting earned him the Alliance League Batter of the Month honors for August. For the season, Martinez has produced 158 hits in 476 at-bats for a .332 average with 15 home runs and gotten on base at a .378 clip. |
