Herndon Sensational, 5-for-5
Wednesday, August 17th , 2050
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Detroit's 13-3 win over Arizona, third baseman John Herndon was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Desert Storm Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Herndon said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
John Herndon singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Herndon has hit 10 home runs and posted a .321 batting average.
