Rodriquez Socks It to Pittsburgh 3 Times
Sunday, October 4th , 2048
It was a day for the record books for San Antonio Aztecs second baseman Victor Rodriquez, who walloped three out of PNC Park against the Yinzers. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Yinzers from getting the 6-5 victory.
"We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," San Antonio skipper Jim Lumo joked after the loss.
Rodriquez still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 4-for-5 for the day, batting in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
"I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Rodriquez said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time."
Victor Rodriquez hit a solo-shot off Dave Arteaga in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Arteaga in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Arteaga in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Rodriquez has hit at a .268 clip with 54 RBIs, 11 home runs and 49 runs scored. He has played in 105 games.
