Gonzalez Belts 3 HR for Porters Monday, May 20th , 2052 It was a day for the record books for Dublin Porters left fielder Esteban Gonzalez, who walloped three out of Desert Storm Stadium against the Scorpions. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Scorpions from getting the 8-7 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Dublin skipper Hannah Porter joked after the loss. Gonzalez still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 4-for-5 for the day, batting in 3 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Gonzalez said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Esteban Gonzalez flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Esteban Vega in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Esteban Vega in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Frank Blythe in the 9th. Batting .319 to date, Gonzalez has 12 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
