Lansing Red Storm Owner Passes Suddenly

It was learned today that Bob Gurney, the owner of Lansing Red Storm, had passed away. No cause of death was announced. The elder Gurney has been suffering health problems for the last few years and had already turned over much of the team operation to his son, Bob Gurney Jr.. Speaking for the family, the Lansing general manager said that Bob would assume the club presidency and handle day-to-day operations. The younger Gurney Jr. is reputed to be controlling in fiscal matters and demanding in personnel relationships.
