Garcia Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Sunday, July 30th , 2051 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Alex Garcia did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Desert Storm Stadium. For the last 20 games in a row, the 28-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the St. Louis Archies beat the Arizona Desert Storm, 10-5. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Garcia told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the St. Louis clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Alex Garcia walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. Garcia is currently hitting .311 with 11 home runsand 48 RBIs, while scoring 59 runs. |
