Arizona-St. Louis Brawl, Kanzaki and Mooney Suspended
Thursday, July 27th , 2051
If there wasn't a history between Kenichi Kanzaki of Arizona and Sam Mooney of St. Louis, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 2 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Kanzaki said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Thus far this year, Kanzaki is hitting .286 with 26 home runs, 49 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
This season, Mooney has 2 saves in 23 relief appearances with a 1-1 record and 2.57 ERA.
