Martinez, Nelson Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, October 9th , 2047 After an intense confrontation, both the Kings Dave Martinez and the Buffalo Randy Nelson were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Los Angeles-Buffalo game. Dave Martinez will miss 5 games, while Randy Nelson was suspended for 3 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Dave Martinez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Martinez is hitting .290 for the season with 22 home runs, 87 RBIs and 65 runs scored.
