Ralph Swartz Injured, Out for Year Wednesday, October 9th , 2047 The doctors have spoken and Ralph Swartz of the Havana Sugar Kings didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Swartz sustained his season-ending injury during the Hanoi Dragon Warriors game yesterday at The Nest. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Havana medical staff reported Swartz had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. This season, Swartz has chalked up no saves, notched a 1-2 record with a 5.93 ERA, allowed 40 hits in his 41 innings of work, struck out 52 and walked 16. Opponents are hitting .255 against the Havana hurler. |
