Bencomo Goes Yard 3 Times Friday, July 16th , 2049 Albert Bencomo went yard three times in a Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs victory over the Dublin Porters at Porters Ballpark. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Sudbury left fielder went 4-for-5 against Dublin with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Blueberry Bulldogs to the 6-1 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Albert Bencomo hit a solo-shot off Juan Gonzalez in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Juan Gonzalez in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Trenton Peterson in the 9th. Thus far this year, Bencomo is hitting .252 with 15 home runs, 41 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
