San Antonio Starter Named AL's Premier Pitcher Tuesday, October 1st , 2047 A standout performance in September earned Art Madsen the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Alliance League. When his name was penciled in to start by the San Antonio skipper, it meant trouble for opposing teams. For the month the Aztecs star racked up 5 wins and no losses. In 42.1 innings of work, Madsen limited opposing batters to 31 base hits and a .207 batting average. He notched 43 strikeouts, issued 24 walks and had a 2.76 ERA. Thus far this season, Madsen has posted a 13-10 record, started 31 games, struck out 190 batters in 185.2 innings and compiled a 4.65 ERA. |
