Madsen Thwarts Lansing, 8-0 Saturday, September 28th , 2047 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Lansing Red Storm as starter Justin Madsen shut them out, 8-0, at Kyiv Grounds. The Kyiv pitcher struck out 9 and walked 2 while allowing 2 hits. "Madsen was good but he wasn't flawless," Lansing manager Jim Nerji said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Kyiv, but this is on us." This year, Madsen has compiled a 13-9 record with a 4.57 ERA.
