Blueberry Bulldogs Stop Johnson at 30
Thursday, June 29th , 2051
Jeff Johnson, left fielder for the Waikiki Wayfinders, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs. Not only did the Blueberry Bulldogs break his 30-game hitting streak, they also beat Waikiki by the score of 3-0.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Johnson said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
Thus far this season, Johnson has hit .298 with 16 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 40 times.
