Johnson Stretches Hit String to 30 Tuesday, June 27th , 2051 The hot bat of Wayfinders left fielder Jeff Johnson continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 30 games after he went 2-for-5 in today's 7-5 loss to the Sugar Kings at Sugardome II. "I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later. "I don't want to mess with whatever zone I'm in." Jeff Johnson hit a solo-shot off Eric McKinney in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Johnson is batting .302 this season in 69 games with 16 home runs, 37 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 87 hits in 288 at-bats. |
