Portland Stops Hamburg Hit Streak Wednesday, June 29th , 2050 The Portland Beavers pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Rourke Hamburg hitless in 2 at-bats during the club's 7-2 victory over the Detroit Pizzas at Beavers Park. The disappointing performance ended a 20-game hitting streak for the first baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Hamburg said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Hamburg is currently batting .348 with 10 home runs, 37 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
