Yinzers Halt Garcia Hit Streak Sunday, July 26th , 2048 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, St. Louis second baseman Alex Garcia went hitless in 5 at-bats at PNC Park. The sudden hitting drought came as the Archies snagged the 8-5 win over the Pittsburgh Yinzers. "Nope, it's not magic," Garcia said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." Thus far this year, Garcia is batting .303 with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
