Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Garcia
Saturday, July 25th , 2048
Chalk up another one for St. Louis Archies second baseman Alex Garcia. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Garcia went 2-for-5 in today's game at PNC Park but saw his club defeated, 6-5, by the host Pittsburgh Yinzers.
"Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Archies manager Terry Schneekloth said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Alex Garcia struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Dave Reed in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Garcia is hitting .307 so far this season with 44 RBIs and 60 runs scored. He has 113 hits including 13 home runs, 25 walks and .361 OBP.
