Sudbury Stops Clark Hit Streak Wednesday, July 8th , 2048 Sam Clark came rolling into today's game against the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs with a 20-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Bulldogs Ballpark. The 25-year-old Memphis Chicks center fielder went 0-for-4 against the Blueberry Bulldogs as the Chicks fell, 7-2. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." Clark currently has a .385 batting average with 132 hits, 13 homers, 48 RBIs, 64 runs scored and a .420 OBP. |
