He assaulted them, broke them and walked off leaving them lifeless and lost as he stole away with the Pitcher of the Month award for his barbaric behavior. "Barone was truly dominant out there," an opposing hitter said to reporters. "He really made hitters miserable." The 31-year-old reliever threw 11.1 innings in 10 relief appearances as he registered 7 saves, 10 strikeouts, and notched a 3-0 record and 0.79 ERA for the month. So far this year, Barone has chalked up 15 saves. In 21 relief appearances, he has 19 strikeouts in 25.1 innings with a 1.78 ERA. His season won-lost mark is 4-2. |
