Garcia Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Tuesday, April 18th , 2051
The Kyiv Cossacks may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 10-6, to the Buffalo Buffalo, but Rod Garcia continued to hit like a god.
The left fielder collected 1 hit in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 31 games.
"Garcia is playing great and is on fire right now," Cossacks manager Boris Lahutin said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Garcia was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Rod Garcia grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
To date Garcia has chalked up a .340 average with 4 home runs, driven in 18 runs and scored 8 times.
