League KO's Archies-Cossacks Players with 5-Game Suspensions Monday, April 12th , 2049 One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Archies-Cossacks game at Kyiv Grounds yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected St. Louis's Marcos Nevarez and Kyiv's Jimmy Gold. Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 5 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior. Nevarez is hitting .250 in 2049 with 3 RBIs and no home runs. |
