Blueberry Bulldogs SS Seelye Gets the Cycle
Tuesday, May 21st , 2047
Joe Seelye did just about everything for the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs -- except win the game. The shortstop had a cycle wasted in his club's loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
Despite Seelye going 5-for-5 with 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored, the Blueberry Bulldogs were defeated, 9-7.
"The guys feel like they let Joe down," Sudbury manager Lord Parquad said later. "He did all anyone could ask and we couldn't hold up our end of the bargain."
Joe Seelye hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ray Atkinson in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
For the season, Seelye has produced 39 hits in 136 at-bats for a .287 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .342 clip.
