Steve Kinas armed with a deadly new pitch Tuesday, March 16th , 2049 This offseason, Steve Kinas has been hard at work on a new pitch that could redefine his effectiveness on the mound: the curveball. After seeking out new ways to diversify his offerings, Steve Kinas worked with the team’s pitching coaches and data scientists to develop this new pitch from the ground up. Starting from his motion and natural release point, the curveball was identified as a good pitch to try out. He then went through the basics of the grip, intent, and release. This was perhaps the longest part of the training, as Steve Kinas really got a feel for the curveball. Finally, he met up with the team's data scientists, who made use of advanced biomechanical tracking and video analysis in order to help him refine the spin and movement of the pitch. "I wanted to add something different to my mix," Steve Kinas said. "The curveball has a real chance to change the outcome of at-bats, and it’s been a lot of fun working on it." Steve Kinas believes the addition of the curveball will make him even more unpredictable and dangerous on the mound. Fans will be eager to see this new pitch in action the mound in the coming season. |
