Conners Chosen #1 Player Monday, May 9th , 2050 East Haddam fans have something to crow about today as East Haddam third baseman Jerrod Conners nabbed the Federation League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Conners. He posted a .412 average (7-for-17) this past week with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. This year, Conners has collected a .321 batting average to date with 36 hits in 112 at-bats, 28 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 20 times. He has played in 30 games. |
