Portland's Matthews to Retire Friday, May 6th , 2050 Baseball News Network is reporting that Jerry Matthews will be retiring at season's end. The 37-year-old Portland Beavers reliever could not be reached for comment, but BNN said the organization has confirmed the player's intentions. Matthews has allowed opponents a batting average of .241 throughout his career and he has rung up 346 strikeouts in 286.2 innings, while registering 15 saves in 223 games. His record is 19 wins-15 losses with a 3.83 ERA. |
