Wednesday, May 27th , 2048
When Zion Anthony got to the ballpark today, he just knew it was going to be a special day.
The 37-year-old reliever was sitting just one save short of 300 for his career and anxious to reach that much-coveted milestone.
"I just had a feeling that today was the day," Anthony told reporters after the game, a 3-0 Brooklyn Knights win over the Detroit Pizzas. "I was a bit nervous before the game, but there wasn't much time for nerves once I started to warm up."
The newest member of the 300 club pitched 1 innings, allowed no runs and no hits in his milestone effort.
Anthony's career record shows a 73-64 record with 300 saves and an ERA of 3.28. He has fanned 1214 batters in 920.2 innings and held opposing hitters to a .234 average.
