Mario Hernandez, the Detroit Pizzas 23-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Alliance League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 13 hits in 30 at-bats, compiling a .433 average with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. Hernandez is batting .274 this season in 91 games with 19 home runs, 61 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 343 at-bats. |
