Avery Is AL's Top Rookie Tuesday, December 19th , 2051 In his first year in the league, Jon Avery paid huge dividends on his club's financial investment. He captured the 2051 Alliance League Rookie of the Year Award for his spectacular season. The Los Angeles rookie phenom started 33 games, tossed 220.1 innings and chalked up a 18-9 record. Avery struck out 246 batters, walked 60 and held opponents to a .229 batting average while compiling a 3.31 ERA. Rowan Cooper of the Los Angeles Kings finished second in voting, while Josh Cotton of the Hanoi Dragon Warriors finished third. |
